We need your help for the next stage of our journey.
The Grange Park Centre Charity is aiming to build a much-needed community centre to provide a space for services and activities for the residents of Shelthorpe Ward, Loughborough. The charity is run entirely by volunteers, we are currently fundraising for this space which will support people living in one of the most deprived wards in Leicestershire. The community centre building will enable the following much needed groups to take place:
- Youth clubs, including homework club
- parent and toddler groups
- over 60’s social opportunities
- exercise classes
- IT training
- counselling space
- debt advice
We know that having the centre as a focal point for the community will increase the sense of belonging and create much needed community cohesion and provide long-term support.
With the support of the Big Lottery, Charnwood Borough Council, charity foundations and MP Nicky Morgan we have raised over £610,000. We have planning permission, we just need to secure further funding by the end of August 2018 to start construction.
“It is quite inspiring to see how the GPC team are creating a fabulous community hub for the whole Grange Park area. I am delighted to back their call for more support and sponsorship. I hope this is a project you can back.”
Nicky Morgan – MP for Loughborough
